The waterfall is situated in district of Satara in western Maharashtra. This is part of Kas pathar / Flower Valley. The lush green mountains and the flowers in nearby flower valley please your senses. The pleasant weather actually relaxes you like anything. But the star attraction of this place is tranquility. The place is simply deserted and there are no hawkers, unwanted guides and cameramen to disturb you.

At the outset, when you see this waterfall from a distance then it doesn’t seem to be a waterfall also. You just see a white thread on the rocky background of Sahyadris. But when you reach near the waterfall and just have a look at it, and then you understand the enormity of it. The roaring water flows at very high speed and you can’t hear anything when you are in the vicinity of the fall. The height of this waterfall is 852 feet and it falls from a straight cliff. The water for waterfall comes from the river Urmodi. It is origin of river Urmodi.

A great place to visit in monsoon ( August to October ) as it can be viewed in its Ekiv Waterfall serenity and flow during that period.

Thoseghar Waterfall

Thoseghar waterfalls is a scenic spot located near the small village of Thoseghar, 20 km from Satara city, at the edge of the Konkan region, in Western India. There are a series of waterfalls, some of them 15 to 20 metres and one of approx 200 metres in height. People come from all over Maharashtra to visit the area, especially during the rainy or monsoon season, July to November. Heavy rain falls during that season, and because of this the falls have more water and are more spectacular. The immediate area is calm and quiet, with a clean lake and dark woods in a hilly area.

Thoseghar Waterfall – ( Summer )

Thoseghar is situated in Satara District of Maharashtra. Thoseghar is just 20 kms from the Satara city. A 1000 feet waterfall makes the village very special. There is a newly constructed Platform to stand and take a good view of the waterfall. Thoseghar is always the attraction for the nature lovers and now day’s people are looking for different spots especially in the rainy season. Thoseghar is very famous for its high Waterfall. These Waterfalls are very attractive and creates a loud noise in the calm nature. You can enjoy various small waterfalls here which are about 15-20 meters high and one of around 500 meters high.

Sajjangad Fort

Sajjangad fort is one of the important fort among all the fort located near by Heritagewadi. This fort is final resting place of Sant Ramdas in 17th century India (born 1608). His teachings and works written in books such as Dasbodh are read and followed by many people even today.

In the state of Maharashtra and Sajjangad is a popular place of pilgrimage. This fort was known Aswalya gad also due to the number of Aswals or bears wandering there. The fort was made by Brahamani Emperors in between (1347-1527). After that in (1527-1686) it came under Adilshah dynasty. Mughal king defeated Adilshah and the fort came under Mughal rule. This fort was captured by King Shivaji on 2 April 1763 from Adilshah. Previously known as Parali, it was renamed to Sajjangad.

The fort is open for devotees from 5.00am to 9.00pm.(all days)Entry and exit beyond these hours is restricted. In the afternoon, trustees of Sajjangad serves a food (as prasad) to the devotees for free of cost.Recently the ShriRamdasSwami Sansthan trust has built a Bhaktniwas for the devotees for free of cost stay. Every year during Shiv Jayanti thousands of devotees visit the shrine by walking up to it.
